A special memorial service is scheduled to take place at a crematorium chapel in the period leading up to Christmas. This event will be held at the Worcester Crematorium site on December 12, providing an opportunity for individuals to commemorate loved ones who have passed away during the preceding year. Attendance at the event is complimentary, but tickets are required due to a capacity limit of 105 people for the service. The gathering is open to individuals of all faiths and those with no religious affiliation. Sian Redmond, from Worcester City Council’s Bereavement Services, commented: “Christmas is a time of celebration, but if you have lost a loved one in recent months it can be difficult to face seasonal festivities without them.“This memorial service will give people the chance to share the experience of grieving for a loved one and also celebrate that person’s life, in the company of others who have had a similar experience,” she said.
