The entities responsible for the London Marathon have acquired the companies that organize the Loch Ness Marathon and the Etape Loch Ness cycling event. Specifically, London Marathon Events (LME) completed the acquisition of Caledonian Concepts and Loch Ness Marathon Ltd; the financial terms of this transaction were not disclosed. The Loch Ness Marathon originated over two decades ago, and nearly 10,000 participants engaged in the festival’s various events during the current year. In April, over 5,600 cyclists participated in the 10th anniversary etape, which traces a 66-mile route encircling the loch. LME stated that this acquisition represents the initial inclusion of significant mass participation Scottish events into its collection. Malcolm and Caroline Sutherland established both acquired companies in 2006. Malcolm and Caroline Sutherland will maintain their leadership roles for their Loch Ness marathon and etape team, receiving backing from LME. Mr. Sutherland commented, “We are extremely proud of what we have created in the Loch Ness Marathon, Etape Loch Ness and Inverness Half Marathon over the past 18 years. “This acquisition is evidence of how incredible the events have become, and this is thanks to the hard work and passion of our fantastic team and volunteers, our sponsors, charity partners and stakeholders including the Highland Council, and the Highland community who welcome and cheer on participants from around the world every year.” Hugh Brasher, LME’s chief executive, stated that Caledonian Concepts and Loch Ness Marathon Ltd aligned with his company’s dedication to activities capable of transforming individuals’ lives. He further remarked, “Malcolm, Caroline and their team have developed a fantastic series of events in a beautiful setting that support a network of charities both in Scotland and across the UK. “They work closely with the local community to produce events that have a unique feel and relationship to local businesses and the area. We pledge to continue their work and build on all they have done.” Post navigation Business Owner Weighs Staff Cuts Amid Budget’s NI and Wage Increases Derbyshire Transport Charity’s Liquidation: Former CEO’s Regret
