The Football Association has brought a misconduct charge against Matheus Cunha subsequent to Wolves’ 2-1 loss to Ipswich on Saturday. The Brazil international forward, who netted Wolves’ levelling goal at Molineux, is accused of having “allegedly acted in an improper manner” during an altercation between the two teams as the final whistle sounded. Video evidence from after the match seemingly depicted Cunha striking an Ipswich security team member in the back of the head with his elbow, then removing the glasses from the individual’s face. The 25-year-old player has a deadline of 19 December to address the accusation. Following the defeat – which marked Wolves’ 11th in the Premier League during the current season – the club dismissed manager Gary O’Neil along with his backroom staff. Cunha has registered eight goals across 16 top-flight appearances this season; however, he might incur a suspension due to his involvement in the occurrence. Jack Taylor’s decisive late header secured Ipswich’s win, and upon the conclusion of the match, Cunha’s fellow player Rayan Ait-Nouri received a red card in the tunnel for accumulating a second yellow card. Wolves currently occupy the 19th position in the Premier League standings, trailing 17th-placed Leicester City by five points. They are scheduled to compete against Leicester City on Sunday at 14:00 GMT.
