A well-known harbourside festival is scheduled to return in 2025, featuring an “expanded programme.” The Bristol Harbour Festival, recognized as one of the country’s largest free cultural events, is set to run from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20. Organizers are inviting local performers, traders, and venues to participate, with more than 200,000 visitors anticipated across the three-day event. Following the success of the previous year’s festival, management has expressed its ambition to create “something extraordinary” in 2025. First established over 50 years ago, the festival offers free admission and will host award-winning food stalls, as well as performers from the city’s arts community. Originally named Bristol Water Festival, it has evolved into one of the city’s primary attractions, and organizers aim for next year’s event to be its largest yet. Harry Feigen, Managing Director of Proud Events, one of the weekend’s organizers, stated that the harbour festival is dedicated to “showcasing the incredible talent, culture and heritage that make this city so special.” Councillor Tony Dyer, Leader of Bristol City Council, indicated that the focus is on identifying local artists to “build on the success and achievements” of the 2024 festival and ensure the upcoming one is “even bigger.” The deadline for performer submissions is January 31, 2025.
