The States further stated that an animal might be denied entry or held if the details on its pet passport or animal health certificate are inaccurate. Additionally, owners were reminded of the essential checks pertaining to pet passports, necessary treatments, and immunizations. It was specified that the ownership section of the passport requires a signature, with the exception of those issued prior to 29 December 2014, which are exempt from this requirement. The date of the microchip must precede the date of the rabies vaccination, and owners are responsible for confirming the vaccination’s validity for the planned trip. The States also reiterated that tapeworm treatment must be administered a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 120 hours before reaching Jersey. Furthermore, it was noted that the tapeworm section within the pet passport must be accurately completed. For updates, follow BBC Jersey on X and Facebook.
