Police confirmed that a suspected hand grenade was discovered by a magnet fisher in Leeds city centre. West Yorkshire Police received notification at 12:38 GMT on Sunday regarding the finding of an old grenade in the River Aire, situated off Meadow Lane. Emergency services arrived at the location, and a cordon was established “as a precaution for public safety.” Following this, Army bomb disposal experts removed the grenade to perform a controlled detonation.
