Law enforcement officials involved in the search for an 86-year-old vulnerable man who went missing have stated their belief that he is no longer alive. John Taylor was last observed near Finham Brook at Abbey Fields, Kenilworth, just prior to 09:30 GMT on 3 December. Warwickshire Police announced on Wednesday that the search effort had transitioned into a recovery operation, and they do not suspect foul play in his disappearance. Detective Chief Inspector Sutherland Lane commented, “It has been over a week since John went missing and we’re very sorry to report that all the evidence suggests we are not going to find him alive.” Since Mr. Taylor’s disappearance, specialized search teams have deployed police dogs, drones, dashcam footage, and a police helicopter in their efforts to locate him. The police force also enlisted the assistance of divers and search and rescue experts equipped with specialized gear. According to officers, search teams have concentrated their efforts in the vicinity of Kenilworth Castle and Abbey Fields. Det Ch Insp Lane further stated, “We have found no evidence to suggest John went far from where he was last sighted near Kenilworth Castle and this area has been the main focal point of our search.” “John’s family are extremely grateful for all the support and kind messages they have received. They now please ask that people respect their privacy while they continue to come to terms with his disappearance.” Investigators had previously indicated their belief that Mr. Taylor did not venture beyond the designated search zone. Last week, Jonathan Taylor, the missing man’s son, told BBC CWR that he was deeply moved by the community’s collective efforts to locate his father. He remarked, “Everyone’s thinking of him, it’s been amazing.” Post navigation Home Seller Discovers Buyer Was FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitive Companies Face £633,333 Fine Following Scaffolder’s Injury at Decommissioned Nuclear Site
