An individual has been sentenced to prison for repeatedly assaulting his former partner. Jordan Wood, residing at Spruce Gardens, Bulwell, Nottingham, was taken into custody subsequent to his victim disclosing his conduct to another person. Nottinghamshire Police stated they were subsequently notified of a series of assaults that commenced in November 2022. This past Wednesday, the 28-year-old individual received a sentence of two years and four months in prison, along with a restraining order, after admitting guilt to three charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two charges of assault by beating. The police force further indicated that subsequent to his initial apprehension, a judicial order was established to safeguard Wood’s victim; however, he violated this order and was consequently imprisoned for one month prior to entering his guilty pleas. Sgt Parminder Ahluwalia said: “The victim in this case was understandably extremely fearful of her abuser and showed a great deal of courage to confide in officers about what had happened to her.”
