Following their response to a fire in Jersey, firefighters have advised the public to routinely inspect their tumble dryers. According to a Facebook update from the Jersey Fire Service, two fire engines were dispatched on Saturday to a residence in St Mary for an incident thought to have originated in a tumble dryer. The service recommended several preventative measures to mitigate fire risks: cleaning the lint filter after each use, avoiding overloading the appliance, verifying that the vent hose is properly installed and free of blockages, and remaining in proximity to the dryer while it is operating. Firefighters further stated, “One occupant was checked over by paramedics at the scene as a precaution, but we’re thankful to report that no injuries were sustained.” Post navigation Yorkshire Observes Remembrance Sunday with Memorial Services Hampshire & Isle of Wight: Community Photo Feature
