On Friday, a special ceremony marked the unveiling of a statue dedicated to a Swindon Town legend, whose significant goal is etched in the club’s history. Also in Swindon, dozens of volunteers convened to wrap presents intended for Ukrainian children. Meanwhile, in Chippenham, local businesses have been actively engaged in promoting shopping within the community. Dozens of volunteers gathered in Swindon on Saturday, contributing to a nationwide initiative focused on wrapping gifts to be sent to Ukrainian children for Christmas. Hepcats Barbershop and Beauty Parlour, along with CafĂ© on the Corner, are two of six businesses in the town being filmed as part of “Small Business Saturday,” a nationwide campaign celebrating the UK’s 5.5 million independent businesses. Prior to a recent storm, staff from Longleat transported some of the safari park’s smaller inhabitants to visit Henford House Care Home in Warminster. The selection included small furry animals, as well as snakes, tarantulas, and insects. This week brought smiles to the dedicated volunteers of Big Breakfast Plus, as the organization was honored with a King’s Award for Voluntary Service. The charity consistently provides hundreds of free breakfasts each week to those in need in Swindon. The Royal United Hospital in Bath, which serves a considerable portion of Wiltshire, has seen three of its departments receive child-friendly refurbishments. These enhancements, made possible by the Time is Precious charity, feature large jungle murals and wall-mounted activities. While some Christmas light events have already occurred, many towns in Wiltshire are still preparing for the festive season.
