Wrexham’s manager, Phil Parkinson, and defender Max Cleworth have been nominated for the League One manager of the month and player of the month awards, respectively, for November. Parkinson, who previously earned the manager of the month title in August, has secured another nomination following his team’s achievement of three league victories across four matches. Wrexham, known as “The Dragons,” currently holds the second position in the league standings and defeated Mansfield Town, Exeter City, and Lincoln City during November. Appointed in July 2021, Parkinson has guided Wrexham through consecutive promotions, elevating the club from the National League to the third tier of English football, a level they had not competed at for 19 years. Cleworth played a significant role in Wrexham’s defensive unit, which allowed only a single league goal throughout November. The 22-year-old also found the net twice last month, once in a league match against Exeter and again in the EFL Trophy versus Port Vale, making him Wrexham’s joint leading goalscorer this season with a total of five goals. The recipients of these awards are scheduled to be revealed on Friday, December 13.
