Authorities are continuing their investigation into the murder of a man who was fatally shot inside a vehicle in Birmingham one week ago. Raad Asmael was pronounced dead at the scene on Rotton Park Road, at the junction of City Road in Edgbaston, at approximately 23:00 GMT on 22 November. In a tribute issued by police, the 27-year-old was described by his family as a “beloved” husband, father, son and brother. West Midlands Police continues to appeal for information regarding the shooting and stated its efforts are focused on identifying those responsible. A force spokesperson said on Friday, “Our officers will be back carrying out house-to-house inquiries around the area tonight, trying to identify witnesses who can help with our investigation.” An individual in his 30s, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident, has since been released without charge. The police force has requested that anyone possessing dashcam footage or mobile phone footage from the vicinity at the time of the incident make contact.
