The National Memorial Arboretum conducted its annual event to commemorate deceased armed forces personnel, with thousands attending its main service. In Birmingham, crowds erupted in spontaneous applause as current servicemen and women, veterans, and members of the emergency services marched past the city’s cathedral. Meanwhile, significant numbers of people gathered at events at Coventry’s War Memorial Park and Wolverhampton’s council building.
