Tawanda Maswanhise is focused on resuming his scoring form for Motherwell, following a period where travel issues disrupted his progress. The forward from Zimbabwe had previously scored in three consecutive matches for the Steelmen, and subsequently secured his first international goal, which qualified his nation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Nevertheless, his journey back from international commitments was postponed until last Friday, leaving him with minimal time for preparation before boarding the bus to Dingwall. There, he was limited to a substitute appearance during Well’s 2-1 loss. Maswanhise now intends to demonstrate his full capabilities when Hibs play at Fir Park this Saturday. He stated, “There were delays from connecting flights so I got back late and the gaffer spoke to me about not starting.” He added, “I only had a couple of hours and then up the road. It was literally just a change of clothes and then up the road.” Maswanhise described the situation, saying, “It was a bit of a shambles, but you have just got to deal with it and look forward to this weekend. Hopefully I can continue my form and last week is out the window now.” Despite the logistical challenges during his travel, Maswanhise remains elated by his goal in the 1-1 draw against Kenya, an achievement that has enhanced his standing in Zimbabwe. The former Leicester player commented, “It’s a massive, massive, massive achievement.” He continued, “People now look up to me back home so hopefully I can do more for my nation.” He also noted, “Everyone was lively. We hadn’t qualified for a few years and it’s a big achievement for the whole nation. We got a lot of love.”
