A trio of individuals has been incarcerated following a robbery at the residence of a disabled man, during which thousands of pounds in cash were stolen. Aston Wiltshire, aged 27, Steven Murphy, aged 38, and Lyndon Pagden, aged 20, were captured by CCTV surveillance entering the bungalow located on Carlton Road, Boston, in the early morning hours of April 27. The three individuals previously received their sentences at Lincoln Crown Court after pleading guilty to a robbery charge. Wiltshire, whose address is Blenheim Willows Lane, Sibsey, received a prison term of seven years and seven months; Murphy, of Broadfield Lane, Boston, was sentenced to five years and nine months; and Pagden, residing on Cotton Road, Boston, was given a sentence of four years and eight months. Testimony presented in court indicated that the victim, who relies on a wheelchair for mobility within his residence, was roused from sleep by knocking at his front door. The court was informed that the victim identified Wiltshire when the trio forcibly entered his property. The three perpetrators absconded with £6,500, which had been kept in the victim’s clothing, and attempted to open a safe, which proved to be empty. Furthermore, during the commission of the robbery, the victim was sprayed with a liquid substance, according to court proceedings. Murphy was apprehended in the vicinity of the incident and was discovered to be carrying two envelopes, each holding £500 in currency. Pagden’s arrest occurred a brief period afterward, while Wiltshire was taken into custody on May 9 as he prepared to board a holiday flight from Stansted Airport. In delivering the sentence, Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight stated: “This was clearly a planned robbery of a disabled man in his own home.” The judge noted that the act of spraying the liquid, likely disinfectant, constituted a significant element of the robbery. Additionally, a restraining order was issued against the three men, prohibiting them from any form of contact with the victim.
