An architectural and structural glazing company from Surrey has entered administration, a move occurring amidst the continuing repercussions from the collapse of construction giant ISG. Vitrine Systems, based in Camberley, declared its operations were no longer viable, attributing this to “large bad debt” and projects that were in the pipeline but subsequently lost. Administrators confirmed that all 23 jobs at the specialist company have been terminated. “It is deeply regrettable that Vitrine Systems has been forced to cease trading, due to a series of challenging circumstances,” stated Nick Simmonds, managing director of the business advisory group Quantuma. He added, “This was a sad ending for a well-established company.” Vitrine Systems, which was founded in 1995, reported a turnover of approximately £8.8 million in 2023. ISG, identified as the sixth largest construction firm in the UK, collapsed in September, leading to 2,200 workers being made redundant. The leader of an industry trade body had previously commented that ISG’s closures would endanger the future of many smaller companies within the supply chain.
