Bus operator First Bus has announced that services will operate later on Christmas Eve this year in parts of West Yorkshire. The company also stated that passengers would be able to use selected bus services on New Year’s Day. Michael Moore, a representative from the firm, indicated that these new services are designed to enable the company to assess customer demand, thereby allowing for future adjustments to timetables. Customers are advised to consult the First Bus website before traveling and to follow their social media channels for updates. Mr. Moore stated: “We’re supporting customers in West Yorkshire to plan ahead for their travel arrangements over the festive holidays. These added services will help us explore customer demand and we’ll use the outcomes to determine future provision.” First Bus confirmed that services will run as usual up to and including December 23. Following this date, a schedule largely based on a Saturday timetable will be implemented, with a limited number of special services operating on specific Bank Holiday dates. Christmas Eve will feature a Saturday service, though some routes will conclude earlier. There will be no bus service on Christmas Day. However, a special service will be available on certain routes on Boxing Day. The regular timetable is set to resume on January 2.
