Liverpool FC has committed to ongoing efforts against ticket touts, reporting that 75 lifetime bans were issued last season in connection with this issue. The club stated it deactivated nearly 100,000 fraudulent ticketing accounts and imposed 136 indefinite suspensions during the 2023-24 campaign. The club further disclosed that “A further 5,670 accounts are currently under review by the club for suspicious activity, including supplying persons who have recently been charged by Merseyside Police for fraud related to ticket touting.” Additionally, “A total of 1,500 tickets were cancelled across the 2023-24 season, either part of mass cancelations or from account holders who had already received sanctions, and the tickets were made available for resale.” The majority of these lifetime bans and indefinite suspensions were imposed due to the unauthorized resale of season tickets, memberships, or hospitality tickets, which constitutes a violation of the club’s terms and conditions. This action underscores the club’s strict policy against all forms of ticket touting. For the current season, the club has continued to enhance its investment in measures designed to combat touting. These enhancements include strengthening online protection, implementing more on-site operations, and allocating additional internal resources to address the issue.
