Authorities have issued a renewed plea for details concerning the murder of a “hard-working and popular” doorman and taxi driver, which occurred 12 years ago. David “Les” Ross was fatally assaulted in a hotel room located in Corby, Northamptonshire, on December 17, 2012. This incident took place only weeks after he had achieved his aspiration of owning a nightclub. Although over a decade has elapsed since his demise and multiple arrests have been made, the individual responsible for the 39-year-old’s death remains at large. However, the Northamptonshire Telegraph reports that law enforcement officials have recently received the name of a person who might possess information pertinent to the murder. Northamptonshire Police informed the BBC that they would refrain from commenting on potential suspects. Coinciding with the anniversary of his passing, investigators are requesting details regarding the perpetrator, their method of entering the room, their transportation to and from the location, and how they became aware of Mr. Ross’s presence. Furthermore, they aim to ascertain who was accountable for a burglary committed at the residence of the “massive character” two days prior to his death. Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell stated, “I am certain someone out there knows what happened to David. We don’t need to know who you are, just what you know. Please think of David’s family this Christmas and help us secure justice for him. His family have been in limbo for over a decade and we want to provide them with some much-needed answers and justice for their loved-one.” Mr. Ross, an avid snooker enthusiast, was a well-known figure among individuals who frequented Corby’s nightlife, and in late 2012, he became a partner at the Rubix nightclub. Within a few weeks, his home was burglarized and ransacked, and his dog was “practically kicked to death,” prompting him to relocate to the Village Inn Express hotel. After the murder, he was discovered wearing boxer shorts and a vest, exhibiting injuries to his face, chest, and arms. Det Ch Insp Campbell further remarked, “We know allegiances and loyalties can change. I am asking anyone out there who may have information which could bring David’s killer to justice to please contact us.” Details can be provided by dialing 101 or by visiting northants.police.uk.
