Law enforcement has implemented a dispersal order in anticipation of the football match between Oxford United and Millwall, scheduled for Saturday. Thames Valley Police announced plans for “a highly visible and robust policing operation” aimed at safeguarding both supporters and the local communities of Oxford. This Section 35 order specifically targets areas within central Oxford, alongside Blackbird Leys and Littlemore, which are situated close to the Kassam Stadium. The order grants officers the authority to disperse individuals or groups of people and will be active from 09:00 to 21:00 GMT. Additionally, football spotters, officers on horseback, police dogs, and drones are slated for deployment. Supt Adrian Hall, who serves as the strategic commander for the Oxford United home fixture, stated that these orders are implemented “solely as a preventative measure for any anti-social behaviour or disorder which takes place surrounding the game”. He further commented, “The majority of people attending this game will be there to enjoy the football and our officers will be there throughout the day and on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have.” Post navigation Police Station Temporarily Closed Due to Suspected Explosive Device Woman Extricated from River Following Van Collision
