Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers has been selected for England’s squad for the upcoming November Nations League international matches, following the withdrawal of eight players due to injuries. Additionally, West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, and Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford have been included in interim manager Lee Carsley’s squad. The players who have withdrawn are Chelsea’s Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer, Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, Manchester City midfielders Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale. England is scheduled to play Greece on November 14 and the Republic of Ireland on November 17. Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold sustained an injury and was substituted after 25 minutes during Saturday’s victory against Villa. Winger Saka exited the field with a limp late in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday. In the same fixture, Rice also incurred an injury and was removed from play in the 71st minute. Grealish has been absent from Manchester City matches since October 20. Despite this, he was still selected for the England squad by Carsley, a choice that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola publicly criticized. Ramsdale is reportedly expected to be unavailable for a period due to a suspected fractured finger, which he sustained during Southampton’s match against Wolves last weekend. The specific reasons for the absence of Foden, Palmer, and Colwill, all of whom completed 90 minutes for their respective clubs over the weekend, have not yet been disclosed. Rogers, conversely, was initially slated to play for the England Under-21s but received his first call-up to the senior squad following a strong beginning to the season with Villa. The 22-year-old player has contributed three goals and two assists in 11 appearances for Unai Emery’s team to date. This squad selection marks Carsley’s last as interim manager before Thomas Tuchel assumes full-time managerial duties in January 2025. The full squad is as follows: Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), James Trafford (Burnley). Defenders: Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Rico Lewis (Manchester City), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Lewis Hall (Newcastle), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton), Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Tino Livramento (Newcastle) Midfielders: Conor Gallagher (Atletico Madrid), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Angel Gomes (Lille), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) Forwards: Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Noni Madueke (Chelsea), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Dominic Solanke (Tottenham), Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) Post navigation West Bromwich Albion Faces Defensive Crisis with Key Players Sidelined Dundee United Fans React to Motherwell Defeat
