Two men were successfully rescued from a yacht that was taking on water in the Norfolk Broads. Hemsby Lifeboat reported that its crew was dispatched to Wroxham Broad at approximately 20:00 GMT on Thursday, responding to a vessel in distress that was taking on water. Dan Hurd, the coxswain of the lifeboat team, stated that the two individuals were “pretty shook up” but were otherwise unharmed. Mr. Hurd further commented, “It was a well executed call out.” An HM Coastguard helicopter, in addition to coastguard teams from Bacton and Winterton, also responded to the incident. Mr. Hurd explained that the boat’s engine had malfunctioned, and water needed to be pumped out of the vessel.
