Guernsey Wild Bird Photography Competition Opens for Entries

Wildlife photographers residing in Guernsey and beyond are being encouraged to submit their photographs of wild birds to a new competition. Ornithology Guernsey, an affiliate of La Société Guernesiaise, has initiated the entry period for its Winter 2024 Photographic Competition, with submissions closing on 31 December. This complimentary competition is accessible to amateur photographers, who may submit a maximum of three photographs depicting wild birds taken anywhere within the bailiwick this year. La Société indicated that the “key factor” for the judging panel will be the subject of the photo, while “light and composition” will be secondary considerations. A curated selection of the leading photographs will be featured in a YouTube video. The overall winner will receive a canvas print of their photograph at a dedicated event in January.
