A 78-year-old man has passed away in hospital several months after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in Maidstone, Kent Police has confirmed. A woman accompanying the man also sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred around 10:40 BST on 15 August; she has since been discharged from hospital. The elderly man, however, died in hospital on 26 October. Authorities reported that the individual driving a black Ford Focus involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with ongoing police inquiries. Detective Constable Jim Galbraith stated: “The victim had been walking from outside Boots and in the direction of the King Street car park when the collision happened.” He subsequently appealed for any witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage of the event to contact the police.
