A leading hospitality firm in Northern Ireland has purchased a hotel and a golf course for a total of £28 million. The Galgorm Collection is now in control of the Roe Park golf resort, situated close to Limavady, and the Galgorm Castle Estate, located near Ballymena. The company plans an additional investment of £22 million to enhance both sites over the coming five-year period. The primary operation of the Galgorm Collection is the Galgorm resort, located near Ballymena. Among its other holdings is The Rabbit in Templepatrick. Financial statements for the Galgorm resort from 2023 indicate a pre-tax profit of £6.6 million on a turnover of £36 million. The Hill family, based in Ballymena, owns the business. Colin Johnston, Managing Director of Galgorm Collection, stated: “We are delighted to welcome both Galgorm Castle Estate and Roe Park Resort to the Galgorm Collection family.” “These are two iconic properties with strong legacies, and we are committed to building on their successes.” The Roe Park Resort operates as a four-star hotel, featuring its own 18-hole golf course. Galgorm Castle Estate functions principally as a golfing destination, boasting a championship course that has previously hosted events such as the Irish Open. Economy Minister Conor Murphy expressed approval for the transactions, commenting: “The investment very much aligns with my economic plan of delivering good jobs and a regionally balanced economy where economic development is felt beyond our main urban centres.” “This kind of investment helps ensure that the benefits of tourism are felt across the north, supporting long-term growth and prosperity.” Post navigation Logistics Hub Ramps Up Operations for Holiday Season Demand Accrington Woman Describes Six-Week Mail Delivery Halt as “Farcical”
