Brentford Football Club supporters are eligible for a 20% reduction on train tickets when journeying to Bees matches held outside the London area. This initiative is part of a climate change partnership established with Trainline. The Bees’ objective is to encourage their fanbase to engage with the “I came by train” campaign. This push stems from the understanding that rail travel represents a more environmentally friendly transportation option, which also becomes more economical thanks to the provided discount. James Beale, Brentford’s sustainability manager, stated: “We’re pleased to be the first Premier League football club to be working with ‘I came by train’ and Trainline on this positive initiative.” He added: “Making our club more sustainable goes beyond what we do at our stadium, it’s also about the travel choices we all make. How fans travel can have a big impact on our carbon footprint.” Beale concluded: “We’re hopeful that this initiative makes it easier and cheaper for fans to make a better choice on travel for the environment.”
