Beattie Praises De Bruyne’s Pivotal Performance

Former Manchester City defender Jen Beattie stated that Pep Guardiola’s squad “looked so much tighter defensively” during their match against Nottingham Forest, but emphasized that Kevin de Bruyne was the player who truly dominated the game. Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast, Beattie remarked, “He was flying from the get-go.” She further added, “He was involved in everything and he was driving his team forward.” Beattie also commented, “To come away with a goal and an assist in your first start in so many games is fantastic. It is a credit to him for how much hard work he has put in to rehab and to getting back to this level.” Beattie concluded her assessment by noting, “He got a standing ovation when he came off the field and that is no surprise.
