An investigation has commenced following an incident where vandals caused “irreparable” damage to a public toilet block in a Suffolk town. Police are examining reports of extensive graffiti applied to the toilets within Fen Park, Lowestoft, between 15:00 GMT and 17:00 on October 31. Consequently, due to the “frustrating” vandalism, Lowestoft Town Council has been compelled to temporarily shut down the toilets for the removal of the black spray paint. The authority also noted that this recent damage to the town’s communal facilities comes after “other incidents of vandalism taking place across the park”. A spokesperson for Lowestoft Town Council further stated: “It is frustrating, and the damage has been reported to Suffolk Police.” The estimated cost for repairs is expected to be substantial, with initial cleaning attempts by the council’s grounds team revealing that some of the damage might be irreparable.
