An initiative involving the planting of one thousand white flower bulbs is scheduled to take place, aiming to heighten public awareness regarding violence against women and girls. These bulbs will be planted in Pearson Park, located in Hull, on Monday, in observance of White Ribbon Day. Participants in this event will include members from Hull City Council, Humberside Police, and various local primary schools. Councillor Linda Tock commented on the upcoming event, stating: “The 1,000 bulbs will be a striking visual representation of the city-wide commitment we all have, and to making parks places that are safe for everyone.” The central theme for this year’s campaign, designated ‘it starts with men’, seeks to challenge male attitudes and behaviours that contribute to the daily fears experienced by women. This bulb planting event will inaugurate 16 days of action. In Hull, these activities are set to feature live screenings of ‘Love?’, a documentary that explores the personal experiences of domestic violence. Superintendent Caroline Andrews, representing Humberside Police, remarked: “Policing domestic abuse presents significant challenges, but with the collective effort of our community we can make a meaningful difference. “Together we can ensure that victims are heard, supported, and protected, and create a community of respect and safety for everyone.” Post navigation Woman Informed of Attack Expresses Resolve to Move Forward Sara Sharif’s Father Denies Intentional Destruction of Phone Evidence
