Simon Beech, a 36-year-old resident of Chell Heath, Stoke-on-Trent, has admitted his guilt to a charge of violent disorder. He appeared before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday, following civil unrest in the city centre on 3 August. The disturbances were part of a broader wave of unrest that occurred across the United Kingdom during the summer, which began after false information was disseminated concerning the individual alleged to be involved in the murder of three girls in Southport in July. Mr. Beech is scheduled to receive his sentence later this month. Audiences can engage with BBC Stoke & Staffordshire content via BBC Sounds, Facebook, X, and Instagram. This material is © 2024 BBC.
