Ben Alderton, a 42-year-old resident of Brackley, Northamptonshire, has converted his property into a Halloween-themed house of horrors, featuring both live actors and animatronics. This immersive spooky attraction, which took two months to create, serves as a fundraiser for the charity Parkinson’s UK. Mr. Alderton initiated this Halloween horror house event seven years prior, following his father Keith’s diagnosis with Parkinson’s, a condition characterized by the progressive damage of brain parts. He stated his goal was to surpass his prior endeavors, noting that 16 live actors are “scheduled to jump out” at attendees. The animatronics are inspired by horror films, and tarot card readings are available for visitors. Last year, Mr. Alderton successfully raised £856, a sum he aims to “smash” this year. He expressed that the frightening entertainment fosters community cohesion and that the funds collected would contribute to finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. Admission to the Brackley Horror House, located at 50 Orion Drive, is free of charge. The attraction will be open on Thursday from 17:00 GMT to 23:00 GMT.
