A man in his 30s has been taken into custody following an assault on two off-duty gardaí (Irish police officers) in Dublin on Saturday morning. One of the garda, aged in his 40s, remains in critical condition in hospital. The second individual was transported to hospital but has since been discharged. The event transpired at approximately 01:30 local time on Saturday, at the junction of Dame Street and Eustace Street. Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.
