An impressive light display has commenced in Gloucestershire, marking the peak of the festive period. This Christmas trail, located at Westonbirt Arboretum, close to Tetbury, became accessible to the public on November 29 and is scheduled to conclude on December 31. According to the organisers, the various installations are “inspired by the natural world and festive themes.” These were conceived by Culture Creative and developed through a collaboration with Sony Music and Forestry England. They further stated that the trail incorporates over one million lights. Among the displays in this evening event is an installation described as a “dreamlike universe made of humour and poetry.” Other exhibits include a creation by Studio Vertigo named Cranes, which showcases luminous origami-inspired birds constructed from recycled materials. Additionally, an installation called TILT presents illuminated seven-meter-tall reeds, crafted by a well-known French artistic studio. Matthew Findlay, representing Sony Music, commented: “We are thrilled to be launching Christmas at Westonbirt trail this year with incredible, new artistic innovations.” He added, “We’re determined to make this fantastic new festive trail the ultimate seasonal experience for all the family.” For updates, follow BBC Gloucestershire on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
