A charitable organization is encouraging individuals across the South West to take part in its ‘Walk for Children’ initiative this December. The NSPCC is scheduled to conduct its yearly ‘Walk for Children’ on December 21, which marks the longest night of the year. People are being prompted to walk with companions and relatives while collecting donations for the children’s charity. The organization stated that the walk is held on the year’s longest night because for children enduring abuse, “every night feels like the longest.” While there is no designated path, the NSPCC has put forward several suggested walks throughout the South West, including the one-mile Kingston St Mary circular route and the South Quantocks Heritage Trail, which runs from Kingston St Mary to Hestercombe.
