Permission has been granted to the Premier Inn chain to expand the bedroom count at one of its hotel locations through the redevelopment of a disused pub. Shropshire councillors formally approved the application, which will incorporate 11 additional bedrooms into the existing site situated close to the Mile End services. The Oswald’s Cross pub, previously operating as a Table Table restaurant, ceased operations in July. This expansion project is set to raise the total room count at the Oswestry hotel to 109. According to the hotel chain, the conversion process is anticipated to be “relatively minor in nature” and is expected to contribute to “the economic growth of the area and improving the hotel capacity”.
