The yearly Christmas illumination show at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham will not proceed. This event, known as Christmas at Wollaton, has been held in the city since 2020 and had grown into a beloved holiday attraction across the East Midlands. According to Nottingham City Council, the organizers of the event “have regretfully made this decision following a difficult operating year due to inclement weather conditions resulting in cancellations”. The council indicated that the display is scheduled to resume in 2025. The illuminated pathway has taken place at Wollaton Hall annually since 2020, and the previous year’s installment featured celebrity visitor Donny Osmond, who activated the lights. Approximately 400,000 attendees have visited the event over a period of four years, as stated by the city council. Regarding the challenges encountered by the event organizers this year, the council commented: “They will be working hard to reinvigorate the event in a way that overcomes these hurdles in future years.”
