Arsenal’s interim manager, Renee Slegers, has declared that the team “are together at the moment” following a period of strong performances. The Gunners have maintained an unbeaten record in five matches under Slegers’ guidance, securing four wins, which includes an impressive 4-0 triumph over Juventus on Tuesday. She further explained her observation, stating, “”That is what I see when I see the team train and together. They are together at the moment. They are trying to play to their own and their team-mates strengths,” she added.” Slegers also conveyed her satisfaction with the team’s current standing, remarking, “”I’m just very happy with where we are at. We do things really well at the moment so we have to maintain that – but also develop. “That is what you hear the players say. They still have little details they want to do better. The players show great mindset.”” Further insights from her news conference, held in anticipation of Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham (kick-off 13:45 GMT), were also shared. Slegers asserted that both the players and staff are “taking ownership of where Arsenal Women wants to go,” while reiterating that her personal future is not her focus. However, she conceded that the appointment of a permanent manager would be “good for the team” and indicated that the club is “working really hard” to address this matter. Slegers expressed her enthusiasm, stating she is “really looking forward” to overseeing the team in the upcoming north London derby. She advised that Arsenal needs to “be on our toes” when confronting Tottenham, suggesting that their opponents “might be stronger than the results suggest” thus far this season.
