The Isle of Man Sports Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 27, 2025, at the Villa Marina. The public is encouraged to submit nominations for athletes, teams, and coaches for these upcoming awards. Nominations can be submitted across 12 categories, which include Sportsman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year. In 2023, the recipients of these premier awards were England rugby prop Bevan Rodd and elite women’s British time trial cycling champion Lizzie Holden. The announcement of winners will occur at a ceremony held at the Villa Marina on February 27, 2025. The deadline for submitting nominations is December 16. Isle of Man Sport, an organization comprising representatives appointed by the island’s parliament, is responsible for organizing these awards. Submissions for recommendations are accepted through either online platforms or email. According to Chairman Andy Varnom, “We are very fortunate to have such a talented and supportive sporting community and these awards recognise not only the competitors but those who help them achieve their goals.” To qualify for nomination, individuals must either be Manx or have maintained residency on the Isle of Man for a minimum of two years. Additional award categories include: Isle of Man Sports Ambassador, Under-21 Sportsman of the Year, Under-21 Sportswoman of the Year, Disability Sportsperson of the Year, Veteran Sportsperson of the Year, Sports Administrator of the Year, Sports Coach of the Year, Sports Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, and The Leonie Cooil Courage & Inspiration Award. Daphne Caine, the island’s Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, described it as a “very exciting time” for participants, further stating: “I am confident that the dedication, commitment and achievements of our athletes, teams, volunteers, coaches and officials will make shortlisting a challenge.” Post navigation Richie Williams to Depart as Cambridge Director of Rugby Bradford Bulls Appoint Brian Noble as Head Coach for 2025 Season
