Sam Ward, who earned his 100th cap for England against Argentina on Saturday, scored four goals as the England men’s team ascended to the top of the Pro League table with a commanding 8-0 victory over Ireland in Argentina. In contrast to their initial meeting on Thursday, where England recovered from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-2 shootout victory, this match saw them deliver an exceptional performance in penalty corners, successfully converting seven out of 13 opportunities. Sam Hooper opened the scoring for England, registering the first of his two goals within the initial minute, followed shortly by a second goal from Stuart Rushmere. Ward then contributed to the scoreline, finding the net with just one second left in the quarter, establishing a dominant lead for England. Hooper scored his second goal early in the second quarter, bringing the score to 4-0 by halftime. The lead was further extended in the third quarter with two additional goals from Ward and a strike from Rohan Bhuhi, who intercepted a pass from the backfield before scoring past the keeper. Ward completed his scoring in the fourth quarter, as England concluded their series in Santiago del Estero with a total of 11 points, placing them three points ahead of Belgium. Ireland remained in sixth position with a single point.
