This season, Declan Devine has led Glentoran to three victories against their rivals, Linfield. Glentoran’s manager, Declan Devine, has committed to the club by signing a new contract spanning two and a half years, securing his presence at the Oval through 2027. Devine’s initial appointment in March was on an interim basis, following Warren Feeney’s departure from the position, before he secured a permanent agreement in April. During his inaugural full season at the helm, Devine has steered the club to the final of the County Antrim Shield and the quarter-finals of the BetMcLean Cup. The Glens currently hold fifth place in the Irish Premiership standings, a position achieved after a significant squad restructuring that involved the arrival of 12 new players in east Belfast and the departure of 18. Devine, who previously won the Irish Cup as a goalkeeper for the club in 1996, stated, “I’m fully committed to building something truly special here at Glentoran.” He further elaborated on his objectives: “My vision is to create a team that plays a distinctive style of football, consistently competes for silverware, and brings pride and joy to everyone associated with the club.” He concluded by saying, “Together, I’m confident we can achieve great things worthy of this club’s proud history.” Glentoran owner Ali Pour commented that Devine has “been a breath of fresh air” since his arrival at the club. Pour further stated, “This contract reflects our commitment to his long-term vision.” He continued, “He is building a culture of excellence and a team that represents the values of Glentoran, both on and off the pitch.” Pour expressed his confidence, adding, “I have no doubt that with Declan at the helm, we will continue to grow, compete, and make our supporters proud.”
