Philippe Clement asserted that “things are going in the right direction” at Rangers and claimed James Tavernier is currently in the best form he has witnessed during his tenure. This assessment comes despite the team’s narrow defeat to Celtic on penalties in the League Cup final last weekend. Despite a disappointing start to the season, Clement believes that both his recent acquisitions and the more established players are demonstrating significant progress. “You see that the team is growing, you see it in everything,” Clement stated. He continued, “The team are gelling together, we’re getting more players available which is also a massive thing when playing every three days. So a lot of things are going in the right direction. I’ve been speaking about potential of players for a while and people need time to adapt to a club, a new way of playing and training.” Clement also noted, “It’s a good thing that fans start to see why I bought people they had doubts about. I’ll use the example of Hamza [Igamane], why take a young boy out of Morocco who didn’t have experience in Europe? People start to see why.” He further highlighted the performance of an experienced player, saying, “It’s not only the new guys and the young guys, the last weeks I’ve seen James Tavernier playing really well, probably the best I’ve seen him in our time together. So it’s all team making steps and that’s the road we need to continue on.” Post navigation Iraola Addresses Semenyo’s Suspension, Recent Defeats, and Wolves’ Cunha Ahead of Match Lee Dixon Recalls Training Ground Confrontation with Dennis Bergkamp
