The Princess Elizabeth Hospital campus is requesting that individuals who are feeling unwell refrain from visiting. Guernsey’s Health and Social Care Committee (HSC) reported a recent increase in visitors exhibiting potential symptoms of illnesses such as colds, flu, stomach bugs, and Covid. Officials have called upon visitors to exercise responsibility, noting that the transmission of illnesses to patients on wards introduces additional risks. Currently, no restrictions on visitation are in effect; however, the HSC indicated it would consider implementing temporary measures if the situation does not improve. The HSC further expressed its hope that a lasting positive outcome from the community’s management of the Covid-19 pandemic would be islanders understanding the importance of staying home when unwell.
