Authorities are requesting public assistance in identifying witnesses after a woman sustained a dog bite injury. The event occurred in Kent, specifically on East Street in Faversham, around 4:00 PM BST on Wednesday, while the woman was stopped at traffic lights. According to police reports, a stocky, dark brown dog, which was on a lead, jumped and bit the woman’s arm. Subsequently, the man holding the dog’s lead reportedly used abusive language towards the victim before departing the scene. PC Sophie Rumsey stated: “While the victim was protected from injury by thick clothing, we are concerned that another member of the public or a child could have come to harm.” The man’s description includes being white, in his twenties, approximately 5 feet 10 inches (1.77 meters) tall, of a slender physique, and having several missing teeth. Police further noted that he was dressed in dark blue jeans and a dark-colored hooded top. The dog was approximately 3 feet (0.9 meters) in height and had a black collar adorned with gold detailing. PC Rumsey also mentioned that the dog involved was reportedly “out of control.” She added: “We are keen to trace the dog’s owner and are urging witnesses to call our appeal line.” Individuals who observed the incident or possess relevant information are encouraged to get in touch with the police.
