Jersey Bulls achieved a 6-1 victory over Sandhurst Town, a mid-table team, thereby strengthening their hold on third place in the Combined Counties Premier South. This marked the third occasion this season that Jersey Bulls have netted six goals in a single match. Kieran Lester initiated the scoring for the Bulls just four minutes into the game, converting Francis Lekimamati’s deflected pass. Rai Dos Santos extended their advantage in the 23rd minute. However, Sandhurst’s Shane Qoloni reduced the deficit three minutes later, scoring the first goal against the Bulls in 11 matches. The Bulls then secured a commanding lead with a rapid succession of three goals within a four-minute interval. Dos Santos netted his second, making the score 3-1 after 30 minutes. He then assisted Jonny Le Quesne, who struck the fourth goal off the crossbar two minutes later. Lekimamati added a fifth, following effective play by Toby Ritzema. Ritzema himself headed in the Bulls’ sixth goal ten minutes into the second half, converting a free-kick delivered into the penalty area. The islanders created several additional opportunities to further extend their advantage, including Jake Prince hitting the post with eight minutes remaining, marking his return to the club following a significant knee injury. This win, the third instance this season of the Bulls scoring six goals, also prolonged their unbeaten streak to 17 games since new manager Elliott Powell assumed his role in the summer. Speaking to BBC Radio Jersey, Powell stated, “I was delighted to get ahead as early as we did in the game, and from then on we were pretty relentless, so it was a good day at the office.” He further added, “Maybe second half we dropped off ever so slightly, which is to be expected as the conditions were pretty tough.” Post navigation Ulster Grapples with Extensive Injury List Ahead of Munster Clash Liam Delap’s Playing Style Poses Mental Challenge to Opponents
