88-year-old hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after lorry incident

An 88-year-old individual was transported to a medical facility, having sustained injuries deemed life-threatening, following an impact with a heavy goods vehicle. According to West Yorkshire Police, the incident involved the man being struck by a white Scania HGV. This occurred approximately at 10:10 GMT, specifically on the A65 Otley Road in Guiseley, in front of Philip Kirkby Jeweller. He sustained severe injuries to his leg and hip. The police force indicated that these injuries are considered life-threatening, primarily due to the man’s advanced age. Authorities are requesting that anyone who observed the collision, or who saw either the heavy goods vehicle or the man just prior to the event, get in touch with the police.
