23-year-old man dies in Lockerbie road collision involving lorry

A fatal road incident occurred late on Tuesday night in Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway. Authorities responded to a report on the B7076, close to its intersection with the A709 Dumfries to Lockerbie Road, at 11:55 PM on Tuesday. The collision involved a BMW 1 series vehicle and an articulated heavy goods vehicle. The 23-year-old male driver of the car was confirmed deceased at the location of the incident. The 65-year-old male driver of the lorry sustained no injuries requiring hospitalisation. Sergeant Colin Ramage issued a statement, saying: “We are providing support to the family of the man who died as our inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on the B7076 around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist. “We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red car travelling southbound on the B7076 prior to the crash who may be able to assist with our investigation.” Individuals possessing relevant information are encouraged to contact law enforcement.
