Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris indicated that full-back Dennis Cirkin will not be hurried back into first-team play before the team’s upcoming match against Sheffield United on Friday. Speaking ahead of the fixture, Le Bris, a Frenchman, verified that the 22-year-old had resumed training following wrist surgery. However, he did not confirm if Cirkin would participate in the game at Bramall Lane. Le Bris conveyed to BBC Radio Newcastle, “He is OK now and ready to train but because he missed two weeks and we have other solutions in the squad right now, we don’t have to rush the process.” He further added, “I trust Dennis, he is very important to us but at the minute we shouldn’t be too risky to use him tomorrow.” In Tuesday’s goalless draw at home against West Bromwich Albion, Trai Hume played at left-back, while Luke O’Nien occupied the right-back position. Le Bris expressed satisfaction with his current available options, stating, “It is a good problem for me because if we have more depth in the squad, with different styles of play, we can manage different solutions.” Post navigation Pep Guardiola Declares Manchester City His Final Club Management Role Wrexham’s James McClean Clarifies Decision Not to Wear Poppy, Citing ‘No Compromise’ on Convictions
