A collision on a major road, which occurred after a police pursuit, has resulted in injuries to four individuals. Law enforcement officers responded to reports received around 13:10 GMT concerning sightings of knives at a property in the village of Althorne, in Essex, from which two suspects departed in a vehicle. Police personnel pursued the vehicle, which subsequently collided with a van on the northbound carriageway of the A130 spur road, situated between the A13 and A127. According to police statements, two occupants from each vehicle sustained injuries, with the driver of the car suffering injuries described as potentially life-changing. The driver and a passenger from one of the automobiles were apprehended on suspicion of aggravated burglary. Essex Police indicated that the northbound segment of the A130 remained inaccessible as investigative procedures were conducted. The force anticipated the road would stay shut for multiple hours, although the southbound carriageway had been reopened.
