Charges of attempted murder have been brought against a man subsequent to two individuals being stabbed within a residence in Staffordshire. Police have identified Anthony Lovatt, aged 68, from Cheadle, as the individual facing two counts of attempted murder and a single count of possessing a knife in a public area. Law enforcement personnel responded shortly after midnight on Friday to a property situated close to Leek Road, after receiving a report concerning an assault on a man and a woman. Staffordshire Police reported that a man in his sixties sustained stab wounds to his stomach and chest, while a woman in her forties was stabbed in her chest. The police force further stated that their officers administered emergency first aid to the victims before paramedics transported them to a hospital. The woman has since been released from medical care, whereas the man continues to receive hospital treatment and is reported to be in a stable condition. Authorities indicated that officers conducted a search of a different residence within the vicinity and located two knives in the proximity. Mr. Lovatt has been ordered to remain in custody and is scheduled to make an appearance at Stafford Crown Court on December 6.
