The identity of a lorry driver who died after his heavy goods vehicle (HGV) veered off the A1 and crashed into a field has been released. Daniel Casariu, 43, of William Street, Luton, was pronounced deceased following the collision on the southbound carriageway, near Water Newton, Peterborough, at approximately 14:40 GMT on Friday. The southbound carriageway remained closed to traffic until around 02:30 on Saturday. Cambridgeshire Police has issued an appeal for any witnesses and relevant dashcam footage.
